Notice on Board meetings--Chris Ah San

Just to remind everyone: if you're absent from a Board meeting and don't notify me in advance about your absence, the Board could end up making decisions without you. If you don't notify me in advance, I won't be able to table discussion that's pertinent to your committee.

Membership Meeting agenda and Board meeting rules--Chris Ah San

Remember that if you want something on the membership meeting agenda, call me before the meeting (give me a day in advance since I have to put together the agenda and accomodate peoples' requests).

Reminder: You must tell me no later than 24 hours in advance of any Board meeting if you won't be coming. I have to be able to plan Board meetings knowing that certain people won't be there.

Give me your input here if you want. Thanks!

USAC endorsements--Chris Ah San

Hey Board-
I feel that I should at least bring this up in case anyone is interested (and to stay true to my promise of keeping everyone in the loop). DAC has the opportunity to endorse candidates in the USAC election, and if you want to do this, please bring it up with me.

I'm personally opposed to the idea since DAC has always strived to remain as apolitical as possible (to the point where we don't hurt our own cause at least). Again, however, it's up to you all if we should do this.

I will be at the endorsement hearings, however, to ask candidates questions about funding and whatnot. So even if we don't endorse anyone, feel free to suggest topics I should inquire on, and I'll be sure to get back to you with their responses.

Just wanted to throw this out there since you all deserve to know what's going on. Post your input here if you have any.

DAC Co-Sponsorship of Bruin Fems event--Chris Ah San

Should we cosponsor this event? See below.

Hello All,
My name is Sara and I am with the Bruin Feminists for Equality. We are going to be having an event on MAY 5TH IN KERCKHOFF GRAND SALON. This event is somewhat of a mixer/get together/info night. We would like each club, which is interested in participating, to set up a table and represent their organization. The event will go on from 6-10PM (we will probably end it by 8 or 9) and we are going to have a few refreshments. If you are unable to participate then please invite your members and friends, come by and get to know other amazing people from different organizations. If you are interested in participating, then please just send me an email.Thank you and I hope to see you all,

Sara Mengesha
Co-President, Bruin Feminists for Equality

finance chair - stui

WaMu - $409.54

SOOF - $662.25
Darfur Genocide Awareness Week - $3196.00
Donations - $497.29

I don't know how accurate that is though, because I see the $150 that we spent from donations to pay for the rights to screen but with regard to SOOF, it looks like we've only spent $1.75...have we not been using the SOOF? And also, in regard to our allocation for our awareness week, it looks like we haven't used anything...

Updates for OERC

Welcome our new VP Rohan and AC Vice Chair Chris S.--Chris

Rohan Shamapant is our new Vice President of DAC. He'll be doing this along with the Advocacy Chair work since the VP job doesn't require much work, except in the case where he fills in for the President at the necessary times, in which case Chris Schwartz would temporarily take on the position of Chair of the AC.

Also, Chris Schwartz will be the Advocacy Committee's Vice Chair.

Welcome our new OERC Co-Chair Sabrina--Chris

Hey Everyone--
Sabrina Oukil is our new OERC Co-Chair!! Please welcome her to the DAC Board.

DAC is going to do a TV Taping fundraiser, where the proceeds go to DAC.

Andrew DeGiorgio is organizing it ((661)578-0403). It will most likely be during Week 4 or Week 6. Funds from this program will help us get to Foster City!

Weekly Newsletter--Chris

If anybody has any announcements and would like to post them in the DAC weekly newsletter, you can e-mail them to either Kristal or I and we'll make sure they go in the next newsletter.

Peace Coalition--Chris

I was approached again about joining the Peace Coalition. I expressed my concerns about DAC's membership in the coalition potentially compromising our promise to stay apolitical on non-genocide issues. PC's rep is looking into what kind of networking relationship can be formed between the coalition and DAC. More details to come.

Hunger Banquet--Chris

DAC will be participating in the Hunger Banquet next Weds, 4/16, at 6:30pm. I'm currently in the process of working out the details with Erina on tabling. If you are interested in tabling, let us know!
